About Us

Established in 2008 and officially inaugurated by President S. R. Nathan, the Peranakan Indian (Chitty Melaka) Association aims to preserve a unique hybrid culture through language, cuisine, and storytelling.

We aspire to uplift and reintroduce Peranakan Indian heritage while celebrating the broader cultural landscape of Singapore, with a renewed focus on education, outreach, celebration and public good.

International Migrants' Day

In conjunction with International Migrants’ Day, we are organizing meaningful events including a grand vegetarian Tok Panjang feast for 360 workers and residents, serving 8,000 bowls of laksa, distributing 2,000 packets of pesticide-free vegetables, and hosting tamandama-making workshops.

These efforts aim to foster friendship, resilience, and appreciation for our migrant brothers and sisters.

We aim to prepare 8,000 bowls of Laksa for our Migrant workers to enjoy.

The Kind Grower will be giving away 2,000 packets of Pesticide-Free Vegetable Giveaways.

We will also run an activity booth on Tamandama-making classes
